The character
Name: Nicole Quinn
Nickname(s): Niki or if you want to annoy her Quinny.
Age:21
Face Claim: Natalie Portman
Mutations/Abilities:
Major-Empathy
Minor 1-Power Sensing
Minor 2-Aura Detection
Appearance:
Niki is the kind of girl, you could easily look over, ignore or just plain not see. She stands at only 5’3 and is natural skinny. Not the kind of skinny that makes you think she doesn’t eat anything most days. But the kind of skinny were when she has short hair and she’s facing away from you, you could easily believe her to be male. She is given her size and statue altogether quite unremarkable at first glance.
Her hair is a mid-brown mousy kind of colour and she keep to short more often than not, and I do mean short. Sometimes it reaches her mid-back if she has been too busy to be bothered with cutting it but normally it reaches half way down her neck in a type of long than normal bob. She has been know to cut it to a couple of inches long and keep it messy if she’s feeling rebellious but that doesn’t happen very often.
Her eyes are a deep, warm brown colour most of the time, but in the right or wrong light depending on your view they seem to go a brown so dark that it makes them look black. Which is of course, nonsense since no one has black eyes, at least no one normal has black eyes.
Her choice of clothing is practical, clothes that are comfy and easy to move in. She hates skirt and dress and would rather die then wear one unless it’s ridiculously hot or a very special occasion. Normally it’s a pair of jeans for every occasion and a t-shirt or jumper depending on the weather. She loves t-shirt that have sarcastic comments on them or funny phases, she uses her clothing to say things she wouldn’t dare too.
Her make-up is the same as she idea on dresses and skirts, okay for special occasion but she doesn’t wear in on a day to day basis. But if she wears it then in will be perfectly applied and suited too her, she generally goes for dark, smoky eyes and a pale lip stick. She does have a slight rebellious streak as mention earlier and this is shown in hidden ways. She was 3 tattoo’s on various parts of her body and 4 piercings, 2 in each ear.

D-hara loved the sunset, to her nothing compared to the feeling of night in her mind, and although she could changed whenever she wanted, there was something about the night that made her body sing for the change, the thrill of the wildness, the life in her other forms. So she often found herself in this very position, sitting on a the branch of a dead and bare tree watching the sun go down.
Almost counting the moments until that rush in the blood would arrive. That thrill, the hyperawareness of herself, of the forest around her. The knowledge of everything living thing around her, the ability to hear their heart beating wildly in their chests as she hunted them down.
She hadn’t always loved the change or the night, along time ago she hated them both, fearing her transformation, and the animal inside herself. Hated the way it made her feel, the wildness inside her. She fear her control, feared hurting someone she loved or even someone she hated. Feared what people would say, what her parents would say.
She remembered huddling up inside her room at night gazing at the moon outside her window and praying that she wouldn’t change. Hated herself and the very world for the curse put upon her. The very idea now made her scoff, in this world, in this life, she was free.
A strange sort of freedom, indeed, but freedom none the less. She had traded societies rules and stereotypes, the perfect women attitude and the gender dominance that formed a cage around her trapping her into their ways and lies. She had traded it in for another type of cage one of her own making.
Trapped inside a old blood covered forest, fearing the humans, fearing the discovery that would happen one day, of that she was sure. Fighting others of her kind, her own species, for god knows what and why the reasoning long forgotten lost amongst the blood shed and the death.
That was the price she had paid for the betrayal of society, for running away from her old life, her friends and family, to live wild and free in this forest. But then nothing in this life was ever perfect, was it? Nothing was ever free, everything had a price, apparently even freedom came at a cost.
D-hara shifted slightly as the sunset set finished and the night coated the forest in a blanket of darkness, she could feel that longed for spark in her blood, the passion for the kill making her heart start to race. She shifted again to move into a position suitable for dropping of the branch when something moved into the corner of her vision.
A slight flash of black, moving fast enough to blur before stopping dead, deathly still. She strained forward on her branch, desperate to get a clear view of whatever the creature was. A low sound reached her, a soft whimpering like that of a child and the creature dropped boneless to the floor. The low sound giving way to loud sobs, cries and the shuddering, uneven sound of breathing.
