The character.
Name Theresa Belle Zivick
Nickname(s): Tessy
Age: 21
Mutations/Abilities: Animation of Corpses;; Mediumship;; Life Force Absorbtion
Face Claim: Sophia Bush
Appearance: Curvy may not be the right word to describe the shape of Tessy, but it is close. She looks a little young for her age, but not in a bad way. Not at all. As a matter of fact, she’s gorgeous. She knows it, but unlike many girls, she doesn’t brag on it. She doesn’t usually like for people to compliment her, but it does make her feel better every once in a while. Her skin is pale and in the sun she seems to glow but it is, in fact, an illusion. She has two dimples in her cheeks and her mother always called them angel kisses. She loves them and thinks she would be incomplete without them.
Her waist is tiny as are her hips, but she retains feminine curves. She is petite, standing at only 5’ 4” and weighing in at around 110. Her hair is dark brown, almost black, and cascades around her shoulders in a mass of waves. In the sunlight her hair appears to be chestnut colored. Her bangs are tapered and fall across her forehead, often falling into her eyes. Her optics are like honey fire, and they change depending on her mood. When she’s extremely happy they sparkle and even lighten some, but when she’s angry they dull and her pupils dilate. It’s quite a scary transformation but it doesn’t faze those close to her.
Because of the fact that she was born into a wealthy family, she is often found in nice clothing. She ran away from home with a rather large piece of baggage. It carried all of the latest fashions of which she was extremely fond of. They included tight dresses which showed off her body, and more comfortable casual clothing. The colors she wore included all of which were seen on a rainbow and more. She was anal about matching and everything had to go. Mix-n-match wasn’t a phrase in her vocabulary. There was a set outfit for each day and they didn’t mix together nor match together. They went with only what they were bought to go with.
Family: Father – Damian Zivick; Mother – Katharina Zivick; Brother – Fallon Zivick (Deceased)
Personal History: Theresa had an extremely amazing childhood. Her parents were wealthy and lived on a farm which just so happened to be built over an ancient cemetery. She was treated as the little angel that she so often acted like. She was born 2 years behind a brother who had a few issues. He was sickly since the day he came from his mother’s wounds. Tessy’s parents spent large amounts of money on the boy, called Fallon. He had some sort of terminal disease that ate his body, from inside out. He seemed normal enough, except for when he coughed blood and passed out from time to time.
Tess was very close to her brother, because he could relate to her. She had learned of her ‘power’ at a young age, and embraced it reluctantly. It was an apparently normal day, when she was playing with her brother outside. He had said something that had made her cry. Not a rude or mean something, but he told her that he might not be around much longer. She sobbed and something inside of her broke. With the blink of an eye a hand reached out of the ground. It was bony and parchment-like flesh hung on with dear life. Or death. Soon the corpse pulled it’s whole body out of the ground and it seemed to be filling with life. Right before her eyes, a long dead person was living again. Well not quite. It wasn’t breathing and it’s heart wasn’t beating. It was just there. Held by her power. She was frightened but soon learned that she had to embrace this curse, or blessing.
Her parents were a bit frightened that neither of their children were average, but they soon got used to it as well. They were both considerably different from their ‘normal’ parents. Though their parents weren’t all that simple to begin with. They had problems, although they may not have been as extraordinary as their children’s. Despite all of the time they spent at home, they were out just as much. (Normally at night.) They slept with other couples, usually switching partners. This practice was never revealed to outsiders. The participants never had to swear their secrecy or participate in a blood oath, but no one had ever really spoken anything to anyone.
When Theresa came to the age of 16 years, her brother passed out and never came back. He died. His death placed a stake through his little sister’s heart as well as his parents’. Kat became depressed and nothing seemed to be able to take her out of the deep hole. After this yet another power came into view. She often heard her brother, singing songs to her in her sleep. Speaking of how much he loved her. Her parents broke down and that’s when their family fell apart. She became restless and wanted nothing more to leave her home because the memory of her brother filled every crack and crevice within the walls. She grew angry and couldn’t stand the thought of having a family without Fallon. She constantly fought with her parents, telling them that it was his fault he never got better. Her mother was constantly in tears and her father grew abusive. They revealed all about their other life and Theresa left. With no second thoughts, and no double takes she left. Her parents threatened to call the government, but she didn’t care. She had to get out. After living on the streets for a while, she found someone just as unique as herself. He told her about a safe haven for people like her. She agreed and followed this mysterious man to the Black Briar, where she found life and friends.
Her final power came into being while living in Black Briar. She knows that being able to absorb someone's life force is an amazing power. Being the sociopath that she is, she feels as if it's a great power to have. Fortunately she knows how to control it so that she can touch people without killing them. Unfortunately she has doubts what had killed her brother, either it was the disease or Tessy's own powers.
Personality: Spending the last 2 years of her life on the streets made Theresa a hard ass. She is extremely untrusting and only a select few know what it means to be true friends with her. She is always hurting inside, but often hides it with a soft smirk. While being in Black Briar, she learned to open up with more people and try and be a little friendlier. A piece of her heart died with her brother, so nothing can truly fill the void but a lot can get damn near close. At times she can be stubborn as well as hardheaded. She doesn’t do anything without good reason, and will protect those close to her with a fierceness to large for her fragile body.
She is often underestimated, and uses it to her advantage. Even though her heart may seem to be made of ice, her hormones rage. She hides it extremely well, but it often rears its ugly head. She can be persuasive and seductive at the same time, and a lot of guys have fallen for her only to get hurt in the end. She loves guys who are just as aggressive and if they can make her laugh in the process they get bazillion brownie points. She speaks like a sailor and always has some sort of smart remark or insult when talking to people she doesn’t care for.
When she laughs it can bring tears to your face. It’s loud, but not too loud. It almost feels like fur rubbing on the inside of your skull, or it brings goose bumps to your arms. Whenever she smiles, which doesn’t happen all the time, it reaches all the way to her eyes causing them to sparkle brightly. Her happiness is usually reserved for her friends and not strangers or anyone else. When she’s angry she is quite the force to be reckoned with. If you get too near her, she’ll hurt you in more ways than one.
Fears: Theresa doesn’t fear much, but any mention of her family brings rage through her body. She fears them just as much as she hates them. At times, she’s scared of losing control of her emotions and letting her powers go. Much like the day she learned of them.
Strengths: Fierceness. Theresa has attitude to rival one of the greatest cats. She’s not intimidated my size and can dismiss anyone without a second thought. Her thoughts don’t linger on any one thing, so she doesn’t have second thoughts. She doesn’t like to second guess something, so if she says anything it’s from her heart. She means it. If something bothers here she doesn’t dwell on it. Nothing truly gets to her.
Weaknesses: Tessy’s mouth can get her into trouble quickly. She pisses people of way too easily, either by taunting them or insulting them. She gets weak in the knees for guys who are protective, just like her brother was of her. It makes her feel back at home. When her family wasn’t shredded. Aggressiveness always makes her shiver. If a guy can come up to her, who knows of her powers, and isn’t afraid or cautious she loves it. It makes her feel that not everything in her world is screwed to hell.

Role playing Sample: Salt rode on the air, tinging the sky with a bitter-sweet odor. Scales the color of lavendar fields skimmed just below the surface, attaching not to a fish, but to the bronzed torso of a female. This slender woman, or shall I say mermaid, was but a young lady. Chestnut hair flowed effortlessly within the sea water as if it had a mind of it's own, but of course it did not. Her eyes were easily the same hue of her shimmering scales, but they were outlined with a sort of black, maybe even dark violet. Her cheeks were tinged red, but not from makeup of any sorts, that may no be possible for she lives underwater. They contrasted greatly with her tanned skin and it made it look like she was forever blushing.
She slid her tail out of the water, and those great fins slapped down causing the water around them to soar. She slid down deeper into the cool liquid, laughter playing in her gorgeous eyes. The water rushed around her body with ease and small bubbles played from her lips. This mermaid, Alannah, was very different. As a baby her parents were exiled from the Kingdom of the Sea and a curse was set upon her by the King himself. The curse was intended to change her fins into human feet if she ever was to touch dry land fully. This horrible magic was cast upon her solely because of her mother. The king had no dislike whatsoever for Alannah herself. Her mother loved dry land, she would sit in the sun for days, risking the secret of her kinfolk. In the human world, mermaids are only legend and no one wants to see that change.
The king had followed Alannah's mother up to the surface one faithful day and once she slipped back into the water, he reprimanded her something fierce. Of course, the King was her father. A glorious man indeed, yet he had his anger issues. He fought with his daughter and she ran off (or rather, swam) with some sleazy merman, who gave her a baby. The King told them never to return and if they knew any better they were to give the baby to him. They never did, and now she was in a horrible predicament because of it. The lovechild to a spoiled brat and the local theif.
Alannah spotted an dark spot in the ever clear water. She moved like an eel towards the underwater cave, slipping through the small hole. It was beautiful inside. The animals that lived in this cave seemed to give of their own light and it glowed like the moon was shining above. There were many different colorful coral lining the shore. The shore? The dark eerie water lapped onto a tiny beach. Not much bigger than a human couch. Old artifacts had been carried into the cave on a strong current and thrown onto the shore. A soft sing-song voice rode through the lips of this young mermaid as she lifted her head out of the water, "Damn!" Pursing her lips in frustration, she reached out to the shore. She was careful not to touch it, seeing as she didn't truly know the rules to the curse. Shaking her head, her chestnut hair fell around her shoulders in a soaking mass.
She turned around and slipped back out of the cave, hissing angrily. Within about five seconds the anger slipped from her face and was replaced with a soft smile, one that means nothing but everything at the same time. No fish was swimming around her, and she had no clue where she was. She swung her fins down under her and lifted her chin to the surface. With one push of her tail she spun through the water and burst into the air. She let out a loud joyous laugh and landed head first back into the water. Looking around, there was nothing but horizon and a small object breaking the soft line. It was the boulder that she knew oh so very well. Swimming towards the minscule break she hummed a soft tune, one that her mother had taught her. It seemed to take the worry out of living the life as a beautiful outcast.
