Name Ciel Jean Donatien [From Heaven, God is gracious, Gift]
Nickname(s): Cell, Cell
Age: 19 years old
Mutations/Abilities: 1) A pair of feathery, white wings on his back
2) Acid Generation; can produce acid through saliva
3) Healing Factor; can heal cuts, small wounds, etc. rapidly
Face Claim: Matt Damon
Appearance: Ciel, to start off, isn't too tall and isn't too short; he's about right in the middle, and that's the same thing with his weight. The nineteen year old isn't incredibly skinny, but he's most certainly not obese, nor does he seem to have any noticeable muscle on his frame. All in all, everything about him is pretty average; average hair, average eyes, average skin color. Nothing on him stands out too much, he's simply another face in the crowd.
Ciel's hair is dark brown mixed in with a lighter brown color. In the front, a few locks fall down past his hair line, and in the back, it remains short and flat, and every lock of his hair remains behind his ears and away from his face (not including the bit that hangs over his forehead at most times). His head is shaped somewhat like a square and he has a large forehead; as for his neck, it's not elegantly long and noticeable, but it's definitely there.
Onto his facial features. He has very expressive, brown eyes, and normally emotion is shown through them instead of him just telling people how he feels, while his eyebrows help in doing just that. Ciel has a small nose, a sharp chin, and a bright smile that's a treat for anyone who ever gets to see it, as he doesn't do it often, normally wearing an indifferent expression on his face. Moving onto his body, it was already mentioned above that he doesn't have any muscle you'll notice at first glance, but physically, he does have some strength in his limbs. He doesn't bother working out or trying to make himself get/look any stronger, mostly because it doesn't really matter to him. His legs are long and carry him to his destination in a few strides, and his arms are normally found by his side.
The teenager's skin color isn't anything too special either; just the normal Caucasian shade that most people are born with. He does have a few darker, pin sized spots here and there, mostly on his face, but other than that, it's not too out of the ordinary, and even in the summertime it seems like he can never get a good tan, no matter how hard he tries. He can, however, manage to get himself a sunburn, but after that incident he normally stays indoors so he doesn't end up with one.
Family: Father, Lucian Stone [lovechild]; Mother, Henrietta Burgan
Personal History It all began when a certain someone's life got screwed on a one night stand, no pun intended. Those sorts of things were invented for pure pleasure; you have sex with someone and then you leave the next morning like nothing ever happened, and no one has anything to say about it. And it really was a brilliant idea, a great invention to be totally honest, but everything good has something bad, a consequence, and that's exactly the direction where this story is heading into.
His mother wasn't one for abortion, especially not when she'd hold up those signs on wooden sticks that criticized killing your child in the first place, so doing that wasn't going to be an option. But deep down inside, she never really wanted a child, mostly because she didn't think she could help anyone but herself, and always claimed that if the world didn't need anything, it was more people to ruin it. Oh yes, she was a little bit of a hypocrite as well. Don't kill your children, but don't give birth to them either.
Either way, she went through with it and gave birth to Ciel, slightly disappointed she had gotten a male. How would she be able to relate with him, especially when he got older? And there were so many stories she had heard about that little boys were a real pain in the ass when they were younger, so she figured it would basically be a living hell. She even considered putting him up for adoption, but she knew she wouldn't be able to go through with it, it would be far worse than all the other things she had done, most of which she'd rather not get into.
But Ciel proved her wrong. He was a quiet little boy; never crying at night, never making a huge deal out of toys, never really paying her any mind at all except for when she called him or asked him to do something for her, and he turned out to be a good worker around the house. He'd actually spend his time cleaning her room because his was already clean, and he'd watch her cook so that he would eventually learn how (he wanted to, but soon enough he gave that up). Even so, when she tried to get him into new things, he often refused, much to her dislike.
Henrietta tried everything; she wanted him to play soccer, to swim, to play hockey or at least run around outside for an hour a day, but he didn't agree to do so. Not that he was lazy, as he did many other things that didn't require any athletic ability, such as painting, reading, writing poetry, a whole bunch of things that his mother didn't enjoy him taking part. It's not that she didn't want an intelligent child, it's that she wanted a child that liked sports and give her things to brag about, isn't that what a boy was for? But that's not what happened as he was persistent, and over time, she gave up.
It was at the age of twelve when Ciel first noticed lumps on his back. Every day after he took a shower he'd look in the mirror and watch then grow bigger and bigger until he got concerned. He actually thought he had cancer or some unknown disease that could possibly kill him, but imagine; he was curious when he first noticed the bumps, frightened when they got bigger, and he was scared shitless when they finally pierced his skin and became a pair of small wings. Now he loves them, but it was different when he was just a child.
He decided not to say anything to his mother because he didn't want to lose her; he knew they weren't on the best terms at the moment, and that she had considered adoption, he was sure that this new discovery would screw up their relationship so badly it couldn't be fixed again. So he simply cut off his wings, surprised when he realized it didn't hurt as much as he thought it would. But things only got worse as he realized they kept growing back, again and again and again, never failing to do so, and he kept it a secret until he was sixteen. Then he told her.
Needless to say, the poor woman flipped out. Desperate, she took him for exams, blood tests, the whole nine yards, and the only answer she got was that he wasn't normal, to which she replied "No shit, Sherlock!". So then the doctors explained that whoever she made him with was the one who gave him the wings, and either that or she was the one who had the genes for it, but because she didn't have anything on her back she could use to fly naturally, that obviously wasn't the case.
On his knees, Ciel begged her not to disown him. He explained he would continue to cut off his wings and would excel in school. He'd play every sport she wanted and bring home a million gold medals, all for her. The boy made a lot of promises and tried his best to keep all of them, but didn't do well in sports and had a hard time in school because he felt too stressed about his powers. In the end, he moved to Alaska after finding out that people like him were living here without being bothered. So, renting an apartment and finding a school, he gave his mother a break. And boy was she happy to get rid of him.
Personality: Ciel was born with a low self-esteem, and he feels as though he needs to prove himself to everyone he meets. He knows that he wasn't made with 'love', he was simply made with the desire to screw something with a pulse, resulting with him viewing himself as a mistake, and a person who needs to show he was brought into this world for a reason. Ciel believes (or wants to, at least) that God made him because he was needed for something important, something that could probably change the world, but all he really seeks is acceptance and love, the one thing his anyone refuses to give him.
If Ciel dislikes anything, it’s definitely being alone. He seems to be the person who doesn’t function well by himself, and for the most part it’s true. However, his slightly timid and quiet disposition give him the appearance of an aloof teenager who values solitude amongst all things, and this is what prevents him from easily making friends and being openly social. Being in the spotlight doesn’t work out for him, but being with other people makes him think he’s a part of something. Well, he can pretend.
When working in a team, his normally indifferent attitude may affect the group negatively or positively, depending on the demands on the leader. He isn’t the kind to voice his opinion at all (exceptions for when he’s nervous or scared), and if you tell him to jump, he’ll ask you how high. Ciel doesn’t give answers unless he’s asked a question, and he’ll listen obediently to whatever you tell him so he can do what you want, how you want it, and when you want it to be done. Having someone to follow makes him feel better about mistakes, mostly because if something goes wrong, it can’t be blamed on him. Not that he gets some thrill out of thinking about doing such a thing, but more so it makes him feel like he can’t possibly be the reason something didn’t go the way it was supposed to.
One of his other traits is that he can be very skeptical at times, and has a thing for stating the painfully obvious. It’s almost like he won’t believe a thing that you tell him unless you give him proof, and most people don’t like that about him. If he’s never done it, then it simply can’t be done unless you show him that it’s possible.
But because he is just like everyone else, Ciel has those moments when he just can’t take it anymore and he flares up to whoever caught him on a bad day. Because he takes everything people throw at him (insults, personal comments, etc.) and he doesn’t start a scene the second he feels something inside him sting, it piles and then builds up until it gets over the top. It is then that he goes from being that statue in the corner to that loud person starting a fight. He isn’t unpredictable, but he doesn’t have an infinite amount of patience either.
Fears:
-Failure
-Rejection
-Losing his wings
-Dying alone
-Being on a boat in the middle of the ocean
-Dark, small, damp places
-Quicksand
-Being pushed aside for something greater
-Consequences
Strengths/ Believe it or not, his strengths are fear and nervousness, the only time he will ever consider speaking his mind and telling others what he thinks. It also makes him become a little less shy and helps to get him into a mood that says he won't change his mind and he won't do as he's been told, but because he rarely does this, he doesn't really have any other strengths.
Weaknesses:
Physically; Anyone or anything that control weather, because it means he can't fly away if it isn't favorable. Also, being hit, slapped, etc. is enough to make him back off if he gets a little 'over confident', and people that are bigger/stronger than him (and people that can hold him down) are another one of his weaknesses. Again, because he won't be able to fly away if he's being held back.
Emotionally; His personality is the main thing. Because he is so easily pushed over, so easy to control, and always does what he's told, getting him to do something that could possibly harm or even kill him isn't exactly a challenge. Either he won't think about what he's been told to do, or he will and not say anything, it still leads to the same thing. Also, he is easily persuaded by "cute faces".
Extra: He has a black&tan chihuahua named Miep.
