"Come out, come out, wherever you are..."
Blue was jolted awake by a loud clank; thinking it was his dream, but just an old truck driving by in actuality. He took a minute to calm down a second, recollect himself, and wonder how the hell he could fall asleep on a park bench in the middle of Town Square - oh yeah, that's right, he was exhausted. That's why. It was overcast and his leather jacket was warm and cozy against the chill breeze; the constant hum of activity lulled him to sleep, and the terror that he shouldn't be sleeping out in the open woke him up.
Blue could feel the acid in his stomach rising; he was damn starving. Being a bounty hunter was a pain-in-the-ass job. You worked your ass off for a week; had to wrestle some really bad-ass guys to the ground; and then got paid next to nothing. So tragic. That and body-guarding were unfortunately the only things Blue was good at at the moment - due to his situation. He had just finished dropping off a guy at the courthouse and was on his way back to the school when the bench looked so appetizing. And here he was.
His dull sapphire eyes watched the people who walked by. Something extremely suspicious in his nature told him to do it; and he couldn't help it. Whether it was a furtive glance, or an outright stare, Blue's blues were always getting a workout. But his growling stomach brought his attention back to the issue at hand. Hunger. There were many little shops and restaurants along the square, but Blue was torn. He didn't have enough energy to put up with idiots, but felt that if he continued on to the school he would pass out for sure.
Dusting off the light amount of snow that had collected on his hat and jacket, Blue rose to his full height. Some place... quick. His black boots crunched against the soft powder; his whole being like a black fly on someone's white shirt. He spotted a little mom & pop type cafe not too far away, and dizzily strode over and entered. It was warm inside; a great fireplace at the back. Blue didn't realize just how cold it really was.
Paying for a bottled water and a sandwhich, Blue took his small meal and sat on the rug in front of the fire. What an odd little restaurant - there were more couches and foutons than chairs and tables. It was quite quiet inside, with no people around, which started to lull Blue to sleep once again. Almost nodding off, he shook himself away and continued to chow down; hoping a bit of carbs would help out.
